Filled with silicone.
Not air.

Cheap signboard PSUs are vented for cooling — that vent is also where water, dust and insects get in. After one monsoon, the PCB is corroded and the output is unstable.

SP-727's enclosure is filled to the brim with thermally-conductive silicone. The PCB is locked in place. Water has nowhere to go. Heat conducts straight through the silicone into the case and dissipates through the mounting flange.

Bonus: Silicone potting also damps mechanical vibration — useful when the PSU is mounted to a billboard frame that sways in wind.

Not lab conditions.

Indian voltage isn't a steady 230V. Suburbs see it bounce between 180V and 290V hourly. During grid switching, lightning, or a transformer arcing nearby, you get spikes well past 300V — and they don't always trip the meter.

SP-727 takes a beating. Operating range 130 – 290V AC. Sustained over-voltage protection at 350V AC for 4 hours straight. 2.5 kV surge immunity per IEC 61000-4-5 (lightning impulse standard).

Most cheap signboard SMPS units fail at the first 280V spike. SP-727 is rated to survive what the grid actually does, not what the spec says it should.
